PRE-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
As the patient, you play a critical role in the success of any surgical procedure. How to prepare for surgery will set the tone for your entire experience. Here are a few tips:

Fill your prescriptions for pain medications the day before surgery. Do not take any of these medicines before surgerythey are to be used as directed only after surgery.

Remove nail polish and clean toenails thoroughly.

Wash your feet thoroughly with antibacterial soap and a wash cloth the night before surgery. Make sure to dry well between your toes.

Plan to arrive at the hospital/office about one hour before your scheduled surgery time.

Wear loose fitting clothes.

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery. Do not take any medication the morning of surgery unless instructed to do so by your doctor.

Have someone available to drive you home after surgery.
